  despite knowing ttatt recently and trying my very best not to absorb the fds-supplied "knowledge" any further, i could not help but feel inadequate again during today's meeting.

  Here are a few ideas I picked up years ago that helped relieve me of "theocratic performance anxiety:"

  The JWs assert that the Bible is a communication from God to the members of Christ's BRIDE ( the anointed).

  Thus it follows, as the Watchtower teaches, that the command to preach and otherwise outperform is a task given to the ANOINTED.

  I never considered myself to be "anointed," and no one ever suggested I might be. If that is true for you too, a lightbulb should be coming on by now...

  The Warchtower says it is your "priviledge" to "share" the work of the anointed. There's NOTHING that compels you to do so, however!

  Take a day off!

  Go fishing!

  or sleep late!

  Let the anointed "exert themselves vigorously," you're going for the Grand Slam breakfast at Denny's!

  The idea of being someone's "bride" just never appealed to me.

  i am very happy that my dear old mom is finally seeing the truth about the "truth".

  what hit her like a ton of bricks is the latest wt.

  study article that exalts the governing body and pretty much negates everything the bible students and russell, the founder of the watchtower, ever said was truth!.

  The worry is always "they've given such a large portion of their lives to the Watchtower, how will they go on knowing it was all for nothing?"

  But the saying is, "Where there is LIFE, there is HOPE."

  Maybe just knowing that they are now FREE of a LIE is comfort enough.

  I really am happy for you Min, and especially so for your Mom.

  today i decided i will write a book.

  it will not be a book about my findings or revelations about ttatt and neither will it be a book about my personal experiences.

  May I offer one suggestion?

  In order to apeal to the largest possible audience, make sure your book contains an absolute minimum of Watchtower dogma and mythology and misology.

  Try to keep it kinda-sorta mainstream Xtian.

  i just finished reading this book, by our terry, and i thorougly enjoyed it.

  terry has an amazing gift for words and expression - as most of you already know - and he lured me in from the very start.

  reading this book is an actual experience... and i don't want to say much more than that, because i don't want to color your experience as you read for yourself.. .

  Where Do You NOW Think Wickedness Comes From? The Devil or... ?

  i think wickedness comes from evil people.. there are many people in between the two extremes of, overly good people and overly evil persons.. i do not believe in a devil.. i think he is a concept dreampt up by evil ones to blame bad behavior, as a red herring, on anyone but themselves.. the watchtower makes up attrocious lies, brow beats good people not to better themselves,.

  all the while, they are building their own empire.. they say, do not isiolate yourself.

  it is not good for you.. but if you don't agree with them and their current teachings, you will be shunned, disfellowshipped.. that can and does, have earth shattering results.. so many things, i was taught as a born in, are now considered apostate teachings.

  Did Jesus really exist?

  i had been wondering over the past few years whether there really was a historical jesus at all, until a few months ago when i read bart ehrman's latest book "did jesus exist?

  " initially i was persuaded by his argument that the nt contains multiple sources that testify to jesus' existence.

  but more recently i have been reading the christ myth position of richard carrier and his responses to ehrman.

  Today there are 52 people in the USA named "Clark Kent." None of them are Superman.

  Too many changes mean more changes to come

  i just joined this site after researching the recent 'new light" my daughter is an unbaptized witness, as well as her husband and my grandchildren.

  i was baptized in the 80s but i am inactive for years now because of changes and inconsintancies etc.. .

  if the sheep and the goats teaching has been changed to happen after the great tribultaion, or after armageddon then this would mean that everyone would not be seperated or judged until after armageddon has occured.
